I'm planning on going camping. I would like to wash the russet potatoes before I go. I am planning on cooking them 2 days later. It will be stored in a plastic sealed bag before I use them in a cooler. Will the potatoes turn brown, mold or will it turn out fine?

Yes you can wash the potatoes ahead of time, just make sure that they air dry. Never rererigate potatoes they will end up having brown spots on them and never seal them air tight....they have to breath.

you can, but it will speed up the sprouting and rotting prcess. if you're definitely going to use it within two days, it should be fine. just try to store it in something 'breathable' (like a paper bag instead of a plastic bag).

Wash & dry the potatoes well before packing them. Make sure you prick them before you cook them so they won't explode.

as long as you don't cut them they won't turn brown.
they shouldn't get moldy in 2 days as long as you let them dry entirely before you put them in the bag. i agree paper might be better but if you are keeping them cold your better off with plastic
they should be fine. enjoy them!

You must let them dry completely... I would put them in a paper bag and not a plastic one......
