That is creepy. Of course I can't say too much. The first time my sister and brother were in the same place in the past five years was at HIS funeral service and he really wasn't there.

Yeah! My family is the same exact way! We only come together for funerals and we don't have family reunions either, at least not in our home town! When we have a family reunion out of town, no one can afford to go!

Unfortunately it's not all that unusual. People are busy these days. The not getting along problem may play a big part in why they don't meet up more often. But at least they are respectful of those who have died and their families to show family support. It could be worse. They could have reunions and fight all the time.

That's about the same as my family... once a year we have a cook-out. Then we see each other on Christmas... and at a few birthday parties. The extended family gets together at funerals.

I think that happens with most family. I have met a lot of family members I never would have met if one of my family members hadn't passed away. Sometimes maybe the people that don't get along put on their "mask" and pretend to get along for families sake.

Your Family is not the only one who cares if they see their relatives or not, My Husband's family do not see each other or call each other by Phone, or in Person, they usually meet when there is a Wedding,a Party, or as you say a Funeral. My Husband and I have tried to go visit his nine Brothers, and three Sisters, but when we drop by, you can tell that they do not want us to go to their Houses, so, I told my Husband," don't try to go visit again, if they do not want to see you than, God knows you tried to get together with them, they do not want that than don't feel guilty about it." So, we do not see them anymore.
