I havent told many friends cuz he is my bff's ex. She moved away at the end of the school year so they broke up cuz they didnt want a long distance relationship. I know she still likes him. But he asked me if i liked him and i said yah cuz truthfully i have since they started going out and apparently he's liked me all year and only dated my friend to get to me but thats wat HIS friend told me. Any i also have a friend who is madly in love w/ him and if news gets around to her that im going out with him she'll b really mad. what am i to do?!?!

Just play it cool and don't say too much. I remember when I was young, the gossip would be all over school in no time at all, who is going with whom, who broke up with whom, and speculation and judgment were constant. Then if you change your mind, or he does, people are gossiping again. Privacy is a great thing, as you will appreciate more and more the older you get.

I think the main reason girls want to tell everyone is to say to the other girls "hands off." But you know, lots of times it only stimulates them to flirt with him all the more, because of the power-trip of being able to steal him away from you. Sure, eventually people will see you together here and there, and the word will go around. But don't hurry it.
