I've heard that as long as you pay so much a month they can't sue you for the bill ( 600 bucks !) Is this true and how much do you have to pay ? Thanks

when she recieves her first bill tell her to read the back of it. There is usually a form to fill out for help with paying the bill and it goes by your income! Make sure she does this right away though... if not she could be stuck paying the full amount

I'm 35 years old and have NEVER paid a hospital or dentist's bill. And I've been there quite a few times. Since only $600.00 is owed, what your friend could do is just send like 10 bucks a week until it's paid off, or just don't pay anything. They won't sue your friend for a measly $600.00 when there are thousands of other people who owe hundreds of thousands of dollars. I've never been sued. Hospitals make so much money, six hundred bucks is pocket change to them. They save the suing for people who like I said owe money in the several hundreds of thousands of dollars.

You can make an arrangement with the hospital administartion for monthly bills you can afford. But remember that if you don't pay in time it will effect your credit score negatively just like a credir card or a loan!

I think there is something called Medicaid, or better yet if she has applied to the EDD when she lost her employment they offer I think Insurance. Otherwise you can get Additional Cobra Insurance when your Cobra Insurance from the company you worked for Cobra Exprires . This is what I have.
You really need to talk to a Insurance Broker firm for more answers.

Whatever you send them and they accept you are fine. Of course they may call and ask for more, but remind them you are paying and that's all you can afford. They will back off. Try not to worry, you can only do what you can. Hope your friend is feeling better. I was at the E.R Saturday, not fun.
