I personally think it is a stupid idea. I liked the good ol' days when you actually had to race for the win, and 1st place in standings, not just spend the season shooting for top 12. Personally I think it takes away from the sport, it makes no sense that a guy in 1st can lose to a guy in 12th when there was no chance of him catching up to him had the points remained the same. Thats just my opinion, what are your thoughts on it?

I think NASCAR would rather sacrifice a driver's accomplishments for the year, than face the possibility of losing a dollar or two due to ratings. The chase is wrong. I don't care who the driver is, if he does well enough to have a huge points lead, he should be able to keep it. Not lose it with ten races to go just to make things interesting. I don't know about you, but I'd rather know the driver that wins the Cup at the end of the year won it because he did the best all year, not just the last 10 races. The Chase, to me, is a load, but it's a load we have to live with.

I think the top 10 was better than 12.

& After this year, I'm glad there is the "Chase"... otherwise it would be a run away... Like the Bush series is right now!

It will be interesting to see what comes of it this year with the new bonus' of 10 points for each win!

I think it's a good thing for Nascar... helps keep it up with the times & keeps someone from completely running away with it!
It's boring when someone is clobbering the others in points!

Personally I do not like the chase. From the point of view that it is sponsor oriented. The big dollars want the big names so if there is this "magic" chase then the biggies have their teams in and others are playing.
If NASCAR wants to "alter" things to keep certain teams and or drivers in the chase they have ruined racing.
The point system has been screwed with til it's a joke as is the top 35.If NASACR wants this chase thing let the chase drivers only be locked in.
But it would be better to go back to the days you had to quailify and the one with the most points at the end of the year is the champ.

I agree i hate the chase, you can not win a single race and win the championship. Its also not fair, The leader can have a great year and have a 400 point lead, then bam its erased for the final 10 races. I know they are trying to make it more exciting, but its not.

I'm guessing your a Gordon fan?? Every year since the chase started the fans of the guy who has a big lead cry about how its not fair... I like the chase cuz it gives some excitement at the middle and end of the season... If it wasn't for the chase I prob. wouldn't even be watching NASCAR at this point in the season!

Since racing seasons started we ran for season points championships and that's the way it still should be. This Chase stuff is fake TV drama just for money...

If I was a Gordon fan I would be dead set against it, or the fan of anyone who dominated the early part of the season.

He worked hard to get his huge points lead and under other circumstances he would already be locked in to be the champion.

It is good for the fans, but it is horrible for a driver who dominated early and has now sort of settled in.

Well, it seems that no matter how you look at the chase. some will agree and some wont. It favors one doing it one way and others doing it the other way. no one will be happy no matter what you do but it is the way it is and we must live with the chase.. so. I say Get out there and watch and have fun with it. Life is too short.

well, even though the only way to get best answer is if we agree, i will disagree. i think it makes nascar interesting. it gives the drivers, who are far back, another chance other then them having to wait a whole nother year to win the championship.
