An underage prostitute became pregnant to a dirty old carpenter, who already with a number of wives, took the pregnant child away from town so she could give birth in anonymity. To avoid being stoned to death for having a bastard child, the child was proclaimed to be "an immaculate conception" and "the son of god"..
How convenient and devilishly clever, and lucky for them it wasn't a girl, who would've had no status whatsoever in such a misogynistic culture. This chauvinistic relic clearly still exists in Christianity today..
How easily history could've taken a different turn..

What's so hard to fathom about this..? You know it makes sense.!

Is this the old virgin birth thing again. Pregnancy can result without rupture of the hymen if there is not full penetration.

As I am sure you are aware, she was not married. Women who became pregnant outside of wedlock in those days were stoned to death. I would have claimed an angel did it too. ;)
