PLEASE don't put cotton swabs in your ears. You can bust your ear drum. It is very Painful. When the wind hits it you will scream. It is like someone putting an ice pick in there. Also If you have to go to the ENT you will be fussed at because you have wax and cotton fiber build up in your ear. All you are doing is compacting the wax.

Ear canal has lots of nerve endings which get stimulated by the cotton swab. It creates the "good" feeling but really, it can do more harm than good. Our ears have a nature-equipped self-cleaning system which should be left on their own

maybe your ear itches or soemthing and it takes some wax out but they really aren't too good for you. the thing is be very careful with them.
