I've never ridden a plane before so I'm really clueless. :]

I believe you can, since a Nintendo DS or a MP3 isn't a problem. Once you entered a airplane and about to enter a passage with scanners it's recommended to remove all technology before the machine or worker scans you. For more details about security try researching it on the internet.

There is an add on available for the DS lite which allows you to store songs via PC onto the SD card which goes into the GBA port of the DS lite.

Yep you sure can. You just can't use them when you take off or land. Once you get to safe altitudes, they will tell you you can use them, and then they'll let you know when you have to turn them off to land.

Have fun - flying's a piece of cake. Just try to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your plane is supposed to take off cause of the lines.

Yes both items are allowed on the aircraft with you when you travel. You are just not allowed to use them during takeoff and landing, but the flight attendants will inform you when it is OK to use electronic devices.
Hope this helps and have a great trip!

Yes you can. The only prohibition against portable electronics is that you cannot use them during take off (until the seatbelt sign has been switched off) and during landing. During the rest of the flight though, you can use them.

Yes, you just can't use them during take off and landing. Once you reach crusing altitude, then you can use them, the flight atendants will male an anouncement.
