I'm in half way through High School and I just started thinking about what I should do with my life and I don't know what. I want some input from everyone to see whats going to be in demand in the next ten years. I have no talents that I can think of, except that i'm pretty good with technology and interested in it. I like science and media also. What should I get a degree in?

I've thought about being a doctor a lot, but I've heard and read that it takes away from day to day life. I don't want to be on call all day, everyday, but I shall research nurse.....

Speaking from experience... there is going to be a huge shortage of day to day doctors ( a lot of people are pursuing specialties) and nurses. I know where I live in NY there are no full time nurses, only ones with traveling licensing because theres such a demand- they never have to stay where the pay is thin. RN's make $100K+/year.

I am in school to be a doctor, and have had doctor's offices in my area offering jobs to students before they finish school to ensure they have a full practice in the next decade. Its great because they could help you pay for school, but it could also trap you in an area you don't want to be in... oh well we all have debt.

Another great thing about medical professions is that you can work anywhere in the world, travel, and will always be in demand. If things turn sour in our country you will have options :)

good luck.
and remember- youre still in high school. You can do anything you want! and youre allowed to change your mind. you dont have to make any decisions.... yet. ;) Keep your nose clean, and your grades up, and you should do fine!
