My 2 year old already has smelly feet when he sweats. What is the best way to help rid of the smell when he wears sandals and is sweating? Powder?

Yes, baby powder can help...but mostly its the sandals...wash his feet when you take the sandals off...thats about all you can do!!!

Ok you are probably going to think this is crazy but it works: put probiotic powder on the babies feet twice a day. The probiotics help return the bacteria to a healthier balance and it is the bacteria reproducing in the sweat that causes the smell, not the sweat itself.

Use an antifungal to clean the shoes every day. 1 part vinegar to 8 parts water, dilute grapefruit seed extract (I think it's 2-4 drops per cup of water), or hydrogen peroxide (3% solution which is what you get at the drugstore). All of these are food safe and non-toxic.

Soak his feet in vinegar and water for however long you can keep him still. Preferably 5 to 10 minutes and dry thoroughly. Do not rinse. Do this every day for a couple of weeks. Try to alternate shoes every day. Give the insides a chance to dry out in between wearings. Have 2 or 3 pairs of shoes to alternate with. This sounds weird, but it worked for my son.

My daughter is 16months and when she wears sandals her feet stink too. I use powder before I put them on and it helps. If I am out all day, I wipe them down with a wipe sometimes when she is really sweaty.

It's the sandals, probably not your child's feet. Mine does the same thing
