Not right away. The first thing I would do would be to have her tested for learning disabilities; she may be putting a lot of effort in the wrong directions for her, and since many kids with learning disabilities are basically intelligent but just learn differently (their brains are wired differently), by putting her into easier classes you may not be dealing with the problem but just narrowing her possibilities in life.

If it is a learning disability, they can work with her on how to approach the material in a way that will work for her. If not, then she may not have great study habits, which can be fixed, or it may be the fact that she can't quite handle the coursework, and at that time, it will be clear which classes she should be in.

I am a college professor, and there is nothing more frustrating to me than the student who honestly tells me that s/he has been studying constantly, and who still can't get the hang of the subject matter. Sure, some are just not very capable, but more often than not they just don't know how to approach the material.

Depends on her grades. If her grades are fine, then I'd say don't worry about it. I was up doing work until about 10 or 11 my sophomore year and there were times when I was up until 1 AM (as well as some of my friends who were in the top 20 people in my class).

First off, how is your daughter having "Academic Problems", when you can't even type down a proper sentence?. First off, your question should be something like this "My daughter is having academic problems in high school. Should I make her take easier classes"?

And to answer the question, no. Don't make her take easier classes

It depends on what she wants. If she really wants to take the hard classes, I'd let her try it because it teaches endurance and strength.
