According to my sister, it promotes deep sleep. She said it was the most boring book she'd ever read.

""Spoilers included""
I think that the message in Book 7 is what Dumbledore had said the past books. Making the choice between doing what is right and doing what is easy is at the core of who we are. The Ministry of Magic, like many folks around the world, repeatedly chose to turn their back on doing the right thing after book 5 because its 'inconvenient' and scary.
Harry, though, realizes that the best thing for everyone is that he sacrifice himself, and while it all turned out for the best in the end and he wins, it is the choice of giving yourself to your fellow human beings that ultimately wins. His mother and father did that for him.
There are very few Voldemorts in this world, but there are a lot of Malfoys, who suck up to power without considering the right and wrong. There are also a lot of Fudges, who try to avoid confrontation because it is too hard. We need to be more like Harry and Dumbledore...willing to fight and sacrifice for the greater good...not for power, money or fame.
Good question.
Peace everyone...

Here's some values in it that may or may not be spiritual...
Trust is earned. Love is valuable. Hate is destructive. Personal honesty is personal strength. Forgiveness enriches life. People of different abilities are all valuable.
I'm not a big fan, nor do I necessarily agree with all of these, but man, they are sure as schmitt values that are written right in there. (some of these other answers are pretty shallow and/or stupid)

Never watched a Harry Potter movie. But I suspect that whatever spirituality runs thru it is evil and of Satan since Harry is a witch or warlock or whatever. Garbage for the moronic masses.

Good question.
Without giving away the answer, and yes I have read the latest book, I'm assuming you're talking about the last volume, mostly.
Friendship, cooperation, recognizing who your enemy really is, don't judge a book by its cover.

Prudence, Temperance, Justice, Courage, Faith, Hope and Love: the 7 heavenly Virtues. (see link below)
But you could make a strong case for the final book being about sacrificial, self-giving love: the kind Harry's mom had for him, the kind Harry had for his friends, the kind Christ had for us. It is that evil is not overcome with evil; violence does not overcome violence. It is only by receiving violence into ourselves, willingly and without retaliation, that the cycle of violence is broken and evil is defeated.
Peace to you.

dark values, OK to lie, be naughty and do bad things to acheive so-called "good" magic, in other words spiritual deception.
