Instead they give me narcotic pain medication which I constantly take and that I don't like how it makes me feel except that it's a slight release from pain.
When I smoke marijuana and take percocet 10mg I am pain free for 1-3 days. When I take just one or the other seperate it helps for only a short amount of time if at all.
I have spent thousands upon thousands in tests to find out what this is and they can't figure it out. My testicle and sides (kidney regions) constantly feel like they are being crushed and twisted. It's the most horrible feeling and I can't live with it.
I've had severe chronic pain for 5 years gradually getting worse and worse. They say its not a fatal condition and that I'll live. But it is still killing me by making my life hell.
The doctor I have seen during this time says she will not recommend cannibis.
Other doctors won't give me anything. Not even the percocet. So what do I do?!

It is not illegal in the state of washington for this purpose. - It is however illegal and much more costly from the streets.

This is not a time to see other specialties of doctors since I have already seen every one of them.

What is wrong with you people? Narcotics are dangerous...and you say to take that instead? marijuana can't kill you no matter how much you took.
I've tried everything else. You don't even know what I'm going through.

There are doctors out there who prescribe marijuana. Some hospitals even do studies on patients using it. I don't know of any doctors that prescribe it to patients, but you could possibly call your local health department and ask about any studies using it. But, from what I've seen on the internet, all the studies are for AIDS patients. Here are a few websites:
http://www.maps.org/mmj/
http://www.marijuana.org/HHS7-13-99.htm
http://www.norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4393
http://www.apa.org/monitor/jun01/marijuana.html
I'm sorry I couldn't find anything better. I know in California, some doctors prescribe it, mainly for chronic illnesses where the patients are dying. Your best bet is to get in a study, but I couldn't find one on the internet for your symptoms. I know that it would be cheaper for you to get a prescription, but at this time I think you'll probably have to buy it off the streets. I think it's so horrible that marijuana has the potential to help so many people, and the government won't allow us to take it. I have fibromyalgia and some studies have said that it would help with my condition. Instead, my doctors give me meds that don't work. I know it's frustrating....

I do not know if any of this will help but this is what I do for fibromyalgia - along with 800mg of resveratrol, cayanne, onion, turmeric* and the info below
Muscles like ropes are made of many fibers or strands. If some of the individual fibers that work in combination to make the muscle strong are not relaxing they bulk up in the middle and are stretched thin on the ends which results in the appearance of "knots" they are the tender spots. The muscles that effect headaches can come from as far away as the lower back and include shoulders, arms, neck and head causing a cascade effect. So a massage (professional if possible) will help.
Arms frequently have knots not just in the arm (especially upper) but shoulders, back, and neck. Until you can reach around behind you one arm up and the other down and at least come close to touching your fingers there are probably more knots. To help get the ones under your shoulder blade - keep you elbow down and put your hand on the opposite shoulder while (if you dont have anyone helping) lean into the corner of a building to apply pressure to the knot.
Specific to the leg - run your hand lengthwise down the section of leg that hurts. You will find tender spots these are the knots described above. Apply pressure to this area in a similar motion just over the length of the knot - it will take many sessions of doing this once or twice per session to get the muscle to relax.
Specific to the head - at the base of the skull where it connects to the spine there is a ridge in an upsidedown V like shape - press in and up to the count of three, three times to help relax the muscles there. All through the hair scratch lightly the head you will find tender spots those are knots (rub the rest of the head) the idea is to go over them semi frequently until they are gone.
General - Muscles need magnisium (regulates many things) and potassium - both can be found in bananas or molasses (a swig or two)
Hydrate with any nonsugar (even the substitutes) liquids - quantity = your body weight divided by 2 times ounces daily. The head of neurology (10 years ago) at UCDavis told my husband that running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil - there will be problems.
Reference - The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies teaches about muscles and how to help them yourself.

I've been dealing with chronic pain for 35 years. I agree that marijuana takes care of the pain better than any narcotic medication. If it's possible for you to grow it that would be the only way to get it cheaper. as little as you are smoking it should not be more expensive than prescribed medications.
I have been in the same place you are where doctors won't give any medication. What you're going to have to do is see a pain specialist because they are more understanding of the needs of a person in chronic pain. They're more likely to give you the medication you need.

First I must tell you I am so sorry for your condition and the pain it causes you. I don't know what type of doctors that you have dealt with but it seems to me that a urologist would be of great benefit to you.
Having said that, you know marijuana is not legal and I'm not so sure how benefical it really is anyway.
Alot of us suffer with chronic pain and pray that a solution to our situation would come. The problem is for alot of us, this thinking turns into depression, and we can end up in such desperation that we close alot of doors and our ears to what is best for us.
Most of us with chronic pain do not enjoy the effects of narcotic pain medications and fear that they will take over our bodies and minds, but unfortunetly these are the cards we are dealt. I do not have a stand on marijuana one way or another, but I can't help but to think logically that if it were benefical and safe long term it would have been accepted by the medical community a long time ago.
You should focus on what you can do instead of worrying about what you can't you are gonna make yourself sicker.
Maybe if you could find some online support groups or something to help you see that there are ways to deal with situations such as ours you will feel better.
At the very least, you should find a doctor who is more sensitive to your pain and if you are unhappy with your percocet then try something else you would be more comfortable with. Believe me there are better pain management drugs than what you are given.
I am really disappointed that you think that we don't know what you have been through. You ARE NOT the only one who suffers on a daily basis. You asked for suggestions and as far as i can see here most of them are quite the same, don't ask and then rudely shut us down.
You wanna smoke pot...........Move to Amsterdam

I've had severe chronic pain in my neck for almost 5 years now, I'm on 6 different kinds of pills to help manage the pain, I'm never pain free and some days think it would be easier to just throw in the towel and not get out of bed, but I do. I think that you should see an urologist and soon, I don't know what your doctor is now that you see, but I cannot imagine she hasn't suggested it. Illegal drugs is not the way to go. I know that my pain management doctor does random urine drug test to make sure none of their patients on narcotic pain meds. use street drugs. I know that it's frustrating to see one more doctor but please ask for a referral to a urologist and maybe they can figure out what is causing your pain. Good luck.

I don't know very much about marijuana but if I was experiencing the pain you describe and it was all I could find to alleviate it, you can bet your sweet @ss I would be using it. Personally I think that one of the main reasons it isn't legalized is because it is so easy to grow and the drug companies would go bankrupt if it were used instead of their high priced pain relievers. HeII they won't even let terminal cancer patients use it, not to mention aids patients and people who suffer from glaucoma, even though it has been proven to help. I'm speaking about the USA but I'm sure it is the same for Great Britain and other countries. ...Good Luck Mate...

First of all the marijuana is dangerous and even though it can be legal (depending on where you live) for medical purposes. Second of all there should be some type of pain medication or some type of treatment that should be more effective than marijuana, and safer. Marijuana shouldn't make you feel any better than the pain medications. Try looking into alternative treatments. Have you tried physical therapy, TENS unit therapy, Spinal Cord Stimulation or anything like that?

Ask her about MArinol. It's synthetic THC in a pill form, and comes in 5, 10, and 20 mgs doses. I've taken it for nausea and it helps give my pain meds a little added boost. It's labeled uses are for nausea when all other anti-emetics have failed and to stimulate apetite in HIV patients, but many pain docs give it to their patients off-label as a muscle relaxer or painkiller.

Well marijuana is still illegal so your doctor can't give it to you. I don't know what is causing your pain and I can't even come up with a connection between your testicle and your kidneys unless you have the same thing that one of my patients had. He had a hernia and his intestines ended up in his scrotum. His scrotum was the size of a basketball and his idiot doctors kept telling him it was nothing to worry about. Your intestines may be sliding back and forth along the length of the intestines. I don't know. You need to see another doctor. Try a gastroenterologist or a urologist.
