I'm trying to center an image (I'm quite new at it) but I can't find the right button to do it (probably the alignment feature.) I'm using CS2, and I was wondering if anyone can point out where this is for me ... thanks :)

Umm ... I have a screen that is 520x250, and a photo that is on a blank background. I am trying to put the photo in the center of the background, but I do not want to just "eyeball" it, incase I am not in the direct centre :)

1. Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool (or type M) to select the entire background area..
2. Click the Move Tool (or type V).
3. Click the Align Vertical Centers and the Align Horizontal Centers icons in the top tool bar.

There is no center button in PhotoShop.

Do you want to crop an image so the subject is in the center of the image?

Or do you want to print the image in the center of the paper?

If cropping, choose the crop tool from the toolbox (3rd from top on left). Drag to select the crop. Press ENTER when happy.

Printing will automatically center the image if you check the box. Go to File Menu -> Print with Preview and put a check in the box.
