My dog has a swollen face. Well... by one of his jaws. He is a Siberian Husky. And is 7-8 months old. We think that he swallowed something sharp and it punctured his mouth or throat. And then the blood clotted. My dauther is REALLY worried because he might have to get surgery. (She is a worry wart.) The vet appt. is for tomorrow, and that is the soonest we could get him in. Do you think this is too late, what do you think? Serious answers only PLEASE!
Thank you in advance!

you have an appt tmrw so dont worry. if its not affecting his eating or drinking my guess would be a tooth infection which requires antibiotics. dont worry about the problem until you have too. best of luck

Lots of things can cause that.. I've seen it from a problem with a tooth, a puncture, a spider.. Unless the dog is acting different, or having trouble breathing or moving it should be okay until tomorrow... but it really depends on what you see...

I think the dog will be fine. The swelling could be from an infected open wound...but I seriously believe that she will turn out ok.

I would do an emergency visit for this - but that is me. It's not likely life-threatening, so your choice.

Is it possible he was nipped by another dog or cat?

Try looking around for a chewed electric cord. Sometimes they will chew one and when they get zapped they will swell.
