Why did Pope Benedict have to publicly read some medieval text that criticised Islam? Was that really necessary?
John Paul II never would have done that. I'm not Catholic. I never had an opinion about John Paul until he came to my home town of St. Louis, Missouri a few years back. My wife and I instantly got the impression that he was a true saint in every sense of the word.
And we're not even Christian. My wife is Hindu and I'm Baha'i.

I see no discernible difference between the two. None of the Popes have read, studied, and obeyed the Gospel according to the BIBLE. They are following the Catholic Doctrines as the Jewish people did in Christ's day. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week!

I don't think so.
He has really said nothing new except about Limbo. All the so-called issues are about long standing Catholic beliefs.
He is getting people to dialog and discuss our similarities and differences which may be a good thing in the end.
