Because they dont want to believe in God because it would mean they would have to give up their sin. It is very elementry...They love their sin, and are not going to listen to God or any one who does believe in God.
They say they dont believe in God because they cant see him. So I guess I should say that they have no brain because I cant see it . Poor things, they are missing a wonderfull blessing.......
John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Gos bless you....Cap'n Arlo

You need to step back a bit or see it from another angle to look at it fairly. If I say that I had an experience where highly advanced aliens with invisibility technology communicated with me would you believe me? Wouldn't you want some proof? I myself can be convinced by my experience but it means nothing and shouldn't to someone else who hasn't and has no proof of it. I see that it is hard to believe in things you can't see and have no objective proof for; wind, atoms, and air etc.. can be proven by objective evidence while deities can not.

So I imagine that you're still expecting Santa Claus to arrive on Christmas eve, the tooth fairy to come when you finally need dentures, and the cobbler's elves to construct your next pair of Nike's.
Everyone doubts the existence of someone for which they have no evidence. It is only God that gets away without proving himself. And that's simply because people have such a difficult time imagining that they & their loved ones will die, the universe doesn't care, and eventually all life on the planet will cease.

Because for them, seeing is believing. They they can't believe because they don't want to.
1 Corinthians 2:14 -- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The proper question is:
"Why would anyone *believe* in someone they could not see, and for whom there exists NO verifiable evidence?"

Religion-wise, I don't think anyone doesn't believe in God because 'they can't see him'.
The main reason they don't believe is because there is no objective proof of his existence.

not being able to see him/her/it is only the tip of the iceberg. there is no way to demonstrate that he/she/it has any effects at all in reality. people who say "oh you can't see the wind either" miss the point by such a wide margin that i usually can't think of a reply.

I can't see him.
I can't hear him.
I can't smell him.
I can't touch him.
I can't talk to him.
I can't get him to listen.
He makes himself unavailable to all who believe in him.
He threatens people with hell.
He says he loves us all, but picks favorites.
He annihilates innocents as collateral damage in his rages.
He made us imperfect, yet expects perfection.
What part of this fiction sounds like something to believe in?
