Spiritually speaking, what do you think about evil.

I was waching Evil Dead 3 (Army of Darkness) and it occured to me: "Man, everithing I know about the forces of evil is from this movie... " I dont think thats acceptable.

Brother Christians: What can you say about our vile foe? Does he spend time acting on Harry Potter fan's head's or is he more interested on the heads of world leaders and the starvation of entire continents? Only with Love and faith with can overcome his bad influence? (Bible references and advices on spiritual growth are welcome).

Brother Ostheictes: What is your view on the subject, please i'm interested, all views welcome to dsscuss

Well, both on a spiritual and physical level, darkness is the absence of light. From the Christian context, evil and darkness is regarded in association with Satan and his product, sin. The key factor about darkness is that it obscures our vision, it gives us a sense of hopelessness...a sense of enslavement. In the bible, John 1: 1-5 says "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things came into being, not one thing came into being except through him. What has come into being in him was life, life that was the light of all men, and light shines in the darkness, and darkness could not overpower it." As we know, this "light" refers to Jesus, who has conquered Satan, sin and "darkness" on the cross. indeed, our vile foe is far more interested on the heads of world leaders...and indeed, anyone who has the power of governance. he will use them to blind us all, to place us in spiritual darkness, and only through the light of love...the light of Jesus, can we have hope.

Peace

There are tests, but they aren't what you think.

There is no evil, or good.

We ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. In Aramaic idiomatic that means we partake of the knowledge of good and evil. We didn't used to. The moment Adam and Eve did, they hid, they lied, they got angry, they blamed, they feared, they worried.

Read it. It has nothing to do with sex.

That one insanity is why we have been cast here, into the world ruled by Satan (enemy). He is our guard and prison warden. When we are tested, if we still show signs of that insanity, we are refused entry to Eden. Those who show no sign of it are allowed back in.

Now that's a rough description of the situation within the Christian motif, but it will serve.

You do pose somewhat of a good point. The normal everyday person doesn't know that much about Satan, Lucifer, or any of the others, yes they are different entitys. I have always been taught to listen to both sides of a story, why are we not taught more about Satan and what exactly happened when he was cast down. I'm not saying either side was right or wrong because I only know one side of the story.

i couldent give you biblical refrences, mainly cause i am at work and dont have my books handy for looking things up. but what i remeber is that biblicaly evil is adressed in actions that are evil. not so much evil as a vague sence of wrongness or badness.

One of the most important things you should know about the devil is this:

he doesn't care about the world, he has them already. The world meaning most of you who read this, mock it, quickly discount me as a lesser and move on...

he focuses on the light because he is insanely jealous of it because he knows what it is
