Yes. But it is WRITTEN! Words in an ancient fiction book have more weight than common sense, compassion, and knowing what is right and fair.

I presume this is what is meant by "one way". You are either of the correct religious persuasion or you are not. If you are not, you're damned. Religious fervor of this sort leads to killing in the name of God. "One way" religion seems to be particularly sinful since these folks are supposed to be adherents to God's codes and laws.

There are no chosen people. All people are the same. No matter what you believe or don't believe, we are all the same. Regardless of skin color, station in life, economic well-being or any other measure we are still just people.

We all have the power of reason. Some choose to use that power. Others choose to adhere to religious myths of ancient times.

Reason tells me that a benevolent God would not have a chosen people. He/She/It would not have a chosen species, a chosen planet etc. either.

Until you have talked with over half of the religious people that are alive right this instant you can't say that most of them believe anything. Are you labeling what you personally believe is MOST?

I have no ideal what you are speaking of, and that is a shame, I hate this vague, questions that give you no real opportunity to respond. If you disagree, then please email me and allow me the chance to respond to what ever it is you are asking. I assure you the God I serve is NO respecters of person, neither rich or poor, young or old, Male or Female, salve or free. Labels in that text only apply to religions, not God.

Unfortunately there are members of all religions which stick out like a sore thumb. Not all Christians hate everyone who has beliefs which are different than their own. Unfortunately, it's always the members of any group who are aggressive, rude, overbearing, and just social inept in general who are the ones who are remembered.

That's a good point. It's the inner most person that counts in the end. Jesus mentioned this very thing... people who pretend to be so holy on the outside. It was going on in his day.

That isn't true. God doesn't care about labels, He only cares about what's in your heart. Whomever told you that is a hypocrite and a liar. Most Christians would not say that to you, if they do, they are giving you false info, and you people who just preach away are not even focusing on his question, so basically you are doing the same thing to him. Why can't you just answer the question instead of just being so preachy? Why can't you just show him love instead of judging him?

It's the submission of a willful and self centered heart that God cares about.

Yes I do. God is well aware of the quality of people. It is his primary concern and the reason why he sent his son.
