Calling all fundies! How could "Noah's Ark" possibly be a true story...?

Question

When you consider that given the supposed dimensions of
the thing, that it would have been packed to the gunwales
with BUGS before any of the larger animals could be marched
two-by-two up the gangplank?
How did they keep the animal s**t from building up so deep
that there wasn't room for the animals? Decomposers you say? That's a lot of work for two earthworms to do! (Or two dung beetles, or whatever...) How would
Noah's family have time to do anything (such as eating, sleeping, ect.) with all that s**t to shovel?
Also who got to carry the tapeworms, intestinal nematodes, pubic lice and so on? These organisms CAN'T SURVIVE
outsideof a human host! (Did Noah and his family draw straws
for that one, maybe?) Were all the animals similarly infected with THEIR species-specific parasites? The ark is sounding like a nastier place by the minute..!
And what about all the disease germs, ect. (including fun things like the leprosy bacillus, or the smallpox virus?)

Imagine all those species crammed together, 8,000+ species of reptiles, 4,000+ species of mammals, 10,000+ species of birds (except perhaps albatross, which could have kept alive in a flood without an ark), 4,000+ species of amphibians and 5-30 million species of terrestrial invertebrates. A sight to behold, to be sure. To fit everyone on the ark they would have had to balance on top of each other, hundreds of feet into the air. But what about all of the species of parasites? Since so many species have species-specific parasites, they must have all been carried in the relatively few hosts. Imagine that poor Noah, carrying around hundreds of species of parasitic worms, ticks, flukes, not to mention all of the parasitical protozoan--some of which are fatal, even things that will devour your brain.

It's sad really that people actually believe the Noah's Ark story to be historically accurate. The people who do believe the story to be true obviously have a hard time telling the difference between fact and fiction.

They belived there was an opening in the back or center that would allow for fresh air water and a place to drop feces. A good portion of the animals would have first been young, not full grown, and dormant causing next to no waist. As far as the lice and bugs you might note that it never mentions insects entering the Ark, they can survive for a long time both under the mud. and on what was floating in the water. Lice can live up to a year without a host, the flood was only 150 days. There are many ways to answer you questions, but you also must remember that God himself had his hands on that boat.

flood stories abound in many faiths around the world, christian, jewish and otherwise. if the focus of the old testament is the story of the people of israel then what happened to the others is irrelevent, they were "dead" to the authors. what was important was the line decending from noah.
as for the animals, many animals survived the iceages and the massive flooding that occured afterwards.

i find it amusing that the point of contention on these stories is usualy a plot device by the authors of the old testament to keep thre readers focus on the subject at hand. faith in god is the key not the hows or whys or did it happen the way so and so said it happened after umpteen translations.

Go to Slobadon! Your question only shows your lack of Biblical reading. If you read the account in Genesis, you would know that God was in the ark with Noah and all the bugs. All the so called problems you address were childs play for the Creator of the Universe.

An ark was what they were in. Like the arc of a rainbow. God's power is not to be toyed with nor dismissed. Of course it was symbolic, like most of the stories Jesus told as recorded by men at the time. A blind man can see, walking on water, food for many from food from one....all lessons for us today. Listen to God.

Not only that, but then there would again be inbreeding with the humans and animals once they were off the Ark. In just a hundred years or less, the gene pools would be so bad off nothing would have survived anyway.

People believe in the Lord because they have confirmations all along the way, FACTS!!! You assume believers are all mental midgets but the truth is, belivers have a dimension you apparantely lack.

Change those dimensions to 24 inch "cubits" which was the Royal Cubit(not 18 inches),Every animal was in it's basic form.There was a big cat that evolved within the species later to adapt to it's environment.From this cat we get Lion ,Cougar,tiger etc.same with Dogs etc.Now Jewish extra-Biblical literature suggests,all the animals were infants.
Even man ,evolved within his species as he moved about the earth.The more north the lighter he got.As far as germs ,I don't think they perished at all.Nor did fish,they just swam along.Viruses mutate ,everyone knows that.
