Neutered animals have less desire to roam. Pets that stay home, safely behind their fences, don't get hit by cars, abused by animal haters, or simply "disappear".

They are less likely to get cancer. If they don't have testicles they can't get testicle cancer. Also, removing the sex hormones seems to decrease chances for some cancers.

Non-neutered animals are under a lot of stress. Males can smell females from miles off and can actually drive themselves crazy trying to get at them. They will stop eating and whine, howl, dig, run in circles, and generally "worry" themselves sick.
Pregnancy and birth is VERY hard on females. With few exceptions, you just aren't careful enough to prevent pregnancy. Especially in cats. They WANT to get out, so they also frantically try to get to the boys.
This stress effects them just like you've heard stress effects humans. It's definitely harmful.

Neutered pets are happier, healthier and better behaved. You also don't contribute to the pet overpopulation problem.

Have your pets spayed or neutered.

Yes spaying and nuetering can lead to a healthy more fulfilling life. It scratches out a few dieseses. You dogs wont be crazy or go through heat( unspayed females go through heat and they bleed too). The males are no longer desperate to mate and they dont go off trying to find a female in heat and get hit by some truck.

It makes them healthier overall. They are better behaved, won't do as crazy of stuff and risk its life more often, and prevents gastrointestinal problems.

You cut the hormones that help trigger cell aging. It won't stop the process, but will slow degradation down.
