If I merge two credit cards from same company, do I loose some points from my credit score? If I loose any credit card and if I ask for new one for the same account, does that affect my credit score?

If you lose a credit card, you should report it immediately to the credit card company. Otherwise, you'll likely end up with a whole lot of charges on that account that you didn't make.

The credit card company will issue you a new card and this will have no affect on your credit score.

Merging two credit card accounts shouldn't impact your credit score if the credit limit equals the total of the two separate accounts. It isn't the number of accounts as much as the available credit to debt ratio that affects your credit score.

My answer is no. When you consolidate 2 accounts from the same company into one, you still have the same available credit instead of splitting into 2 cards, now you only have one. Your total credit line should be the same.

If you lose your credit card and the credit card company send you a replacement card, your credit history with that company hasn't changed, the only thing has changed is your credit card number.

Your questions would best be directed to your credit card company. Please give them a call.

Good luck.
