Cats RULE! I like dogs too. But only in small doses. Other peoples dogs are great. But owning one is a pain in the neck. They're far too needy and far too much work.

Depends on your lifestyle. I have 5 cats that I adore, but wanted a dog. Now I realize how much easier cats are! But the dog is fun to play hard with and go on car rides. Dogs are more labor intensive. Cats pretty much take care of themselves, but still let you play with them.

You can't really just pick one or the other. It all depends on your style and schedule and what you are looking for.
Right now, cats are better since we have an apartment with no yard for a dog. When we get a house, we will definately be getting a dog.

You know, I was always a dog person... but as I have gotten older I have become more of a cat person. I personally prefer a calmer pet - and cats are less demanding. Some would say that cats are aloof, but I am ok with that. My cats are friendly and independent - unlike a needy dog, that always needs attention.

They are both awesome. That is a question that doesn't have a good answer. It's strictly personal opinion and preference.
I love dogs. I grew with one. I prefer dogs. But we have 2 cats-go figure. Even having the cats, I'd prefer dogs. (long story why we have cats).
It just depends on what you are looking for in a pet.

Don't listen to these biased answers. It really depends on your personality. I love all animals. I have 4 cats and 1 dog. A dog is a lot more work since you have to walk them everyday, take them out to go potty (not to mention potty training them) give them baths to keep them clean and they require a lot more one on one attention than cats do. Cats generally know how to use a cat box simply by putting them in it, they do not need to be given baths since they clean themselves, and most of the time will simply enjoy laying in your lap while you are watching t.v. or sleep with you in bed at night. Cats also entertain themselves (if given toys and such) whereas dogs tend to need the human attention. So, the choice is yours!

Cats are more entertaining and less work! And you only have to clean there poop once or twice a week as opposed to several times a day with a dog.

Both! I hate it when people prefer because it's like saying I hate that person just because they are male or female.Besides you can not like a particular cat or dog but you shouldn't hate the whole species.

i like dogs,but i love cats. cats you don't have to let out in the cold to go to the bathroom. our cat will meow back at us when we talk to her. i guess she's trying to continue the conversation

cleaner
far more intelligent
less maintenance, a hell of a lot easier to care for.
more independent.
cuddle with you when you want them too
require less attention (dogs are always up your ***)
nice and quiet, no obnoxious barking
