I'm in college and kinda shy (never had a gf unfortunately). It seems everyone likes to party and drink at my age. I actually dont drink, at all. I have heart problems already and dont think it'd be good for me to drink/smoke. How and where do you start relationships if you aren't the party type?

Are girls not interested in guys who dont like partying/drinking? Is that boring? Nerdy? Do girls not like nerdy?

Help. What do I say to girls?

Personally, the guys I met while partying and drinking were not the guys I ever seriously dated.

The ones I did date I met in class, at a job, church, and at a gas station.

When I was in college I might have been turned off by a guy who didn't party or drink. But not now and ....there are other ways to be social without that. I guess what I really would want to see is that your not some kind of hermit that never does anything. That is a total turn off.

What to say to girls??? NOT A STUPID LINE !!! I can't believe some guys are that corny. Just say hi. And start a conversation about something relevant to the situation.

Women like confidence! Men are way more into looks than women are. So be strong and take a chance and say hi next time you see a cute girl.

For one, you can still go to a party and socialize even if you are the only one not drinking. But if you really don't like the party scene, there are plenty of free date ideas that don't involve drinking. Usually colleges have free or cheap stuff for students -- you can go see student plays, free or cheap concerts, a picnic in the park, bike riding, hiking, miniature golf, billiards in the student lounge, go bowling on cheap night, etc. Check on the internet for free or cheap local events (usually the website of your local news station will have these). If you are creative, then you can come up with a date that is unique enough for the girl to remember (hopefully in a good way). And it doesn't have to be a date. You can ask a girl to study with you, or better yet, ask her to go shopping with you in order to get a woman's opinion on what clothes look good on a guy (women love shopping, and women love giving her opinions). This is a good way to sped time with someone for free.

I think that what you are worried about is how do you meet girls without going to a party. You are in college! You are surrounded by girls in class, the library, the cafeteria, and just walking across campus. Next time you are in the cafeteria, walk over to a table that has one or two girls that you might want to meet, and ask if you could join them (and have an actual conversation while you eat). If you see a girl reading under a tree, or sitting alone reading in the library (or better yet, in the student lounge) walk over and ask her about what she is reading (unless she looks like she is concentrating on a difficult subject -- check the book cover).

And your local Student Union has various student clubs. Since you asked questions earlier about God, I'll assume that you are religious. You can go to any of a number of student led Bible studies -- you can get answers to your questions about God, and met clean girls at the same time. And don't forget that many churches also have college age student fellowships (and they tend to have social activities too).

Just don’t seem desperate – that scares girls away – and you should do fine.

You should go to a church that is close. There are probably some girls that go to college there, that also attend church. They probably hang out in the 20s group. That's a really great way of meeting fun people who most of the time do not smoke or drink. Good luck, and please do not start smoking or drinking just because you want to date or want to hook up with a girl. College isn't forever!

There are plenty of girls out there who don't drink or smoke and don't want their bf to either! Good for you! You don't need those things to make you more accesible. Not doing those things does not make you boring and definately not nerdy! You'll find the right girl out there! Just be patient and good luck!

just be yourself! i guarentee you will find a girl who likes u for u! Just because u dont drink or party doesnt mean you are a nerd, i mean you could be, but just those two things dont mean you are. if u are a little girl shy then try breaking out of your shell, flirting with cute girls, being funny is a good turn on, and try starting casual conversations. you will find someone! GOOD LUCK ;)
