I'm looking for my first job and I am filling out my resume right now, and for the work/experience part I have no idea whether or not I should leave it blank or make something up? Because I have never babysat, volunteered all of those things. I have a while ago but I don't have references that I can remember. Help please.

Most places that you would be applying for, will understand if you don't have "real" world work experience.. You've been in school working on your grades for college etc... I would not make something up.. That would be really bad especially if the future employer looked it up.. If you babysat awhile ago mention it.. If you were in a extracurricular activity mention it... Also, when going to fill out applications/dress like you want a job even if you are just filling out the applications and leaving.. It is a first impression. Hope all goes well, good luck

When you're applying for your first job, employers know you wont have any past work experience. It's not really that big a deal. You can always list hobbies or clubs you were involved in during school on the resume.
At an interview, just emphasize that you are willing to work hard and eager to learn.

As for references, you can put down teachers or neighbors that know you well. You should ask them first if you can use them as a reference. Good luck.

Ask you teachers and other adults if you can use them as references. Then make a list to have with you if asked. Your resume should be very basic, no experience since you have none.
Make the first part about what you are looking for and who you are. Then the rest is education.
Start with your name address and phone number centered across the top then you opening statement of your objective.
It might look like this:
Young adult looking for first job. I would like to work in hospitality services to give me experience for my future career after college. I have been studying hospitality in high school and would be honored to be working in the industry. I am a responsible person as evidenced by my near perfect grades and would do my very best to make you happy you hired me.
Education:
Middletown High School honors program 2005-2007 graduating June 2008
Classes include Excel, Word, Access, Math, Science, English, French and Public speaking.
