All mammals, including humans and dogs, have belly buttons. That's where the umbilical cord brought nutrients to the pup/baby before it was born. A dog or puppy's belly button is hard to find because of the fur.

They don't have belly buttons as humans do but they will have a small scar from the umbilical if you look close enough. It is more prominent in some dogs than in others.
Looks like a small round scar or possibly a skin tag.

They do have belly buttons, They are usually covered with fur but if you look close you will see it..
It may just be the anatomy of the human body as to why ours look different but I think the fact that dogs actually chew off the umbilical cord after birth which prouduces some pulling, contributes to the fact that most canine *belly buttons* are outies, or appear more as lumps than human belly buttons

They do have belly buttons, it just doesn't look like human's. It's where the mom dog cut the umbilical cord. It's the middle of the stomach usually.

Dogs DO have umbilical cords, how do you think they are attached to the placenta! They also do have "belly buttons" but usually they are covered by fur so you don't see them.

Dogs are attached to their mother by an umbilical cord - when they are born the cord is cut which later drys and falls off - somewhat like humans which leave a belly button...

They have a little mark where their umbilical cord was attached. I'd be more curious why humans have such weird belly buttons.

.they do have them they re just hard to see. you can see them OK on my dogs because they have extremely short fur. the belly button on them is more or less the scar from the umbilical cord

They do...most of them just have fur and it covers it up so you can't see it,also they are smaller and a lil' different than a humans.
