No, but I believe God can make something good out of the bad things that happen.

Of course everything happens for a reason.
That doesn't mean that God is the one who CAUSES everything to happen. Yes, God is responsible for the good in the world, but when it comes to the bad things there is human free will and the devil too. The good news is that God can take the bad and turn it around to use it for good.

I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I also believe that God does not put more on you than you can handle. Also, when he closes one door, another one opens. My story is not as tragic as yours, but my husband of nine years walked out on me over a year ago. Our divorce is final now, and I was trying to get on with my life and had a good friend that I thought I would like to try and be with. This man also ended up hurting me, and for awhile I didn't understand why I couldn't find anyone that wanted to be with me. Well, at the end of January a man came back into my life that I had lost touch with right after I married my husband. I was very much in love with this man years ago, but he was married at the time. Just before I got married, he called to tell me he was divorced, but I went ahead and got married anyway. Now, both of us are divorced and trying to form a relationship. So, I believe that God will work things out for you the way that He wants them to go. You may not understand it for awhile, but just have faith in Him. Remember the good times you had with the love you lost until you find someone to be with in the future. It doesn't mean you loved him any less, it just means that you moved on, and if he loved you he would want you to.

beleive it or not i came apon this by chance, and i do belive everything happens for a reason. Nothing, absolutly nothing happens in gods world by mistake, every thing that happens in our lives happens to teach us. We have to experience all of these things to make us understand the true meaning of life, and it is different for everyone. I myself am realizing this more and more every day. If i hadn't of went through everything i went through, all of my life i wouldn't be who i am today, it's called charictor building Sue. What is wonderful is when you (me) and everyone else who can grasp this concept starts to understand, that life is like a great big board game with dice and cards to draw and each one is another step into our future and not everyone is great but it can turn out to be the best thing that ever happened. Someone very speacial to me tells me all the time God puts people in our lives and everyone of those people are suppose to teach us something. If lifes got you down call a good friend, i'm sure they:) will be glad to hear from you.....remember there are angels walking around disgised as people and who knows maybe one of them is YOU

Yes! I believe that everything happens for a reason. If you are asking if everything happens for a divinely inspired reason I will have to say no.
No where in any divinely inspired writing is the concept even mentioned. It is a romantic notion that can be both inspiring and disheartening. It is often used to explain away bad choices we humans make.

Life is a collection of occurrences - some are random in nature (which persons lightning will strike) and some are initiated by humans. (Invading Iraq) The more power a person or group has, the more occurrences they can initiate and influence. The less power they have, the more they look to religion to rationalize their inability to influence occurrences and to provide a belief that while they don't appear to have earthly control over them they will one day have a sort of divine control.

Yes. It is kind of like action and reaction. Everything we do has an effect on something, it may just take time to see it. And God allows some things to happen for us to be better people.
