They do when God finally chastises them, but God has a lot of patience. He gives the person tons of time to recognize the sin on their own, repent, and change their ways. If the pastor still refuses to judge himself, then God steps in and allows the sin to become public so that the pastor has no choice but to admit it and repent. If the person still refuses to repent, then it is on their head because they know the truth and have chosen to ignore it.

This actually is entirely up to him as any person. the only problem is that when pastors or priests are judged they are not only judged for what they have done but if they were tryly able bring peopel back to God and not becoming a source of temptation or a way that people will curse God's name because the bad example the led. The Church's authority should immediatey demote them from their rank if they have done a grave sin that not only affected them and God's image but God's image in front of people. He should be not restored till some true repentance. In the old Church .. grave sins were given harsh sentences. They would be demoted and disallowed from communion ofr a while, standing as new comers to the faith, 2 years and three years as repentants and then they are allowed to take communion.. just an example of how the Church rules were in the past...

It is possible. David was a man after God's own heart. Yet he committed adultery and murder. God's prophet, Nathan, confronted him, and he confessed and repented of his sin. Paul had many people killed in the name of God before he met Christ. He calls himself the "chief of sinners." I DO believe it is possible, but becomes more and more difficult with the passage of time.

If he is truly saved, I also believe God will bring him back to the truth before his death since God chose us to be "holy and blameless before Him in love" and since, "He will keep you strong right up to the end, and He will keep you free from all blame on the great day when our Lord Jesus returns" (1 Corinthians 1:8)

If you have a particular individual in mind, the best way to love that person is to pray that God block everything "not of God", (close every door to sin), pray that God prepare the pastor's heart to hear the truth (soften it to God's truth), pray for God to put a godly person in the life of the pastor, whom the pastor would listen to, and finally pray that God would open only those doors which lead to Him.

SO many are bad examples of the faith. Sinning pastors need to spend the rest of their lives repenting OUT OF THE SPOTLIGHT instead of bouncing back to millionaire status with their tv shows and limousines.

They stopped talking the talk when they stopped walking the walk.

sometimes....the devil wants them the most since they have more responsibility of leading souls to Christ. They need your prayers and support. If they are still pastoring while openly sinning then the church members are to talk to him about this. If he does not repent openly, he is to step down....or the members are supposed to ask him to. These are very touchy situations and seem to happen more and more. It is wrong to look the other way....it must be dealt with.

Badly slidden?
Some wake up, most don't because they have slidden purposefully, not by error.

sometimes. it depends on the pastor and what his crime was and who it was against. this is a situation of hate the sin but love the sinner. he/she needs to be forgiven by his/her parishioners. all you and the rest of the congregation can do is to pray for him/her and ask GOD to help them see the error of their ways and seek forgiveness.

Don't know the sliddin' your referring to, but sliding away from religion is never a bad thing. Sliddin' away from God is another story.

It depends on the person, remember a man of GOD is just that, a man, and will and can sin like everyone else.
