Ok there arne't many birds you cna fit in a cage 16x 24 That's really really small. Also there isn't a bird that is quiet. Nope nope nope. Also: They are messy. The only bird I could see happy in a cage that small is a budgie and jsut one. But first: DO research! No offense but you sound very new to birds adn also like you haven't done your research. Birds are complex...and in the wrong hands are one of the worst pets. They need ltos of attnetion adn they are costly. I would get a book about parakeets, http://www.centralpets.com/animals/birds/parrots/prt791.html and look on the internet to leanr as much as you cna about proper diet, and care so your bird lives a long happy and healthy life. I hope you do not rush into this, because even a budgie can be demanding.

as you have such a small cage and you dont want to be woken heaven forbid that a bird should make any noise that wold be totally inconsiderate of it wouldn't it
I'd recommend a female canary theyre silent failing that how about a stuffed toy bird it wont mung being cooped up in a tiny cage and wont wake you up either ..

so why the hell did you buy a cage? as for the size thats really small for even the smallest birds, they need room to fly. birds are not quiet and will make noise. so my advice is don't get anything.

Okay, well it sounds like you're a first time bird owner so DONT DONT DONT get a cockatoo like the other person said, and I don't even know what a parrotkeet is.
A cockaTIEL would be a great bird. That would probably be my top recomendation. Or you could get a parekeet or two.

I would reccommend a male parakeet. Females tend to be a little more nippy and cranky. You could also get a cocktiel and I would reccommend male as well. Good luck and hope this help :D

honestly parakeets!! (budgies are the comparable subject) i does no longer choose a Finch simply by fact they are able to be very noisy, and that they are often very speedy and can't be held. A Finch could be extra tricky to shield, So i honestly advise a parakeet.

How about a voice activated stuffed parrot. He will only make noise when you want him too.

Hmmm I would choose...I forgot what it was called, but
it was pretty small, it was sort of blue and it likes to hop!
IT sounds really pretty too! ^_^
