The first Homo Sapiens were a group. The evolution that leaded to human was extremely gradual. So much so that offsping never came about that was really distinguishible from its parent in term of species. You can thus see why it's difficult to say exactly when one species starts and another ends. So there was never really just one human. If there was just human it could never reproduce and therefore there wouldn't be any humans today. The first organism however was both. They reproduced asexually.

Not known. Where do you draw the line? A chap who walks upright but has a low forehead and doesn't speak properly, does he count as human?
To answer your question seriously though, all male humans have the same Y chromosome, so the species must have had a common male ancestor at some point.

The first human had to be born from our most recent primate ancestor. It most likely was a mutation.
In my opinion...humor intended...it would have been female because if it was male the females would have ostracized it. A male will mate with anything that will stand still for it.

well i asked this question a while ago too my teacher said that if we humans came from a god then we'd all be cousins and sisters and well you know related. then evolution tries to explain our origin by saying that since all life came from the sea and we evolved from monkeys then their wouldnt just be one human either male or female but a new group as in both males and females which as the years passed by started to develop more and more until they eventually looked like us modern day humans. its up to each of us to believe what we want whether it be a God or evolution. the one thing that we all MUST do is be more open-minded and tolerant of each others ways.

Both, they popped into existence at the same time. Thank God for that big Black Obelisk from 2001 Space Odyssey, or they never would have had the intelligence to hook up!

According to evolution, asking "who was the first man" is the same as "when did our ancestors began being considered as human beings" which in turn is the same as asking "at which grain of sand added to a handfull, the handfull becomes a meadow?"
The term human is just a concept we draw from our evolution, and its boundaries are too faded to set a beggining
Ps: I am a christian, so dont rant me about being a godless prick please.

Evolution, my friend. Both males and females. The human is still evolving.

If you can somehow point to the first member of the Hominids that you'd accept as a Homo Sap, I'll examine its genitals for you.
You know, before you go trying to shoot something down, it pays to have a clue.
