I bought the car 2 weeks ago and have no owners manual, and the person who had it doesn't know either.

Check DCL means check data communications link, the PCM has detected some kind of an error with the communications link. As for the beep, if it beeps for 1 second every 5 seconds for a minute and the Check DCL stays illuminated it is a high priority concern. If you just get a 1 second beep then it is a minor priority concern. Either way you might want to get it looked at, since Lincoln dealers usually charge outrageous rates you could probably get it diagnosed at a Ford dealer cheaper.

The ones I've seen that were doing that all needed a new instrument cluster to fix the problem but that may not be the case with yours. Gives you somewhere to start anyway.
