Most scholars or educated people know that there is no such thing as a god. Its the less educated who need something to look forward to after death or just don't have the mental capacity to understand a world without a god. But what if we are wrong? If there is a god he might be upset that almost all "educated|" normal people never believed in him. All I can say is that if a god wanted most educated people to believe, he should make himself known. What do you all think?

In the unlikely event that I die and encounter a supreme being, I'll gladly accept whatever consequences there are for having been true to my beliefs in logic, rationality and critical thinking.

If the afterlife is only a reward for people willing to engage in delusional thinking, I guess I just don't want it that badly.

An un-true premises. The writer indicates he/she is a scholar or educated. There are as many brilliant people who believe as the reverse argument. Evolution, science and believers can live side-by-side. The writer cannot not prove "there is no such thing as a God" and there are thousands of books that argue otherwise. It is an age-old discussion and there is not enough room here for this writer to expound the reasons to believe in God.

If god exists in a form remotely resembling anything religions would have us believe then, I think we should all know it perfectly well without the need for any religions or scriptures to tell us about it.

If some kind of god does exist, I see no prospect of ever being embarrassed by my indifference to the matter. I can, however, see a lot of red faces among not only Atheists, but Christians, Jews, Muslims and other theist religions, too.

Whatever the case, faith now would be folly.

I can assure you that not all of us out here that believe in God are un-educated or under educated...... But never the less there really is a God and his name is Jehovah and his only begotten son name is Jesus The Christ..... And in my mind and heart I need God to be totally involved in all aspects of my life.... I personally find no fault in your dis-belief In the existence of God, So my question to you is why do you have a problem with me and other that totally believe in the existence of God, That you would go as far as to try and insult us and believe that we are limited in education and knowledge...... Lol I find your comment amusing and I still don't bear you any ill will like you have shown toward us.... But I would like to know where you acquired such erroneous information about us from.. Was there a questioner or whatever... Or did you just pull this kind of information out of thin air.. Please take the time to respond................................

What do you think your concious is that is the holy spirit the one that tells you right from wrong the most powerful thing is right inside of you he does make himself known. I dont know what all these fools who are answering your questions r thinking. God sends us all of are answers when we dont know or understand but like these fools in here they ignore it just like if more people didnt ignore the holy ghost inside of them there would be no hate or people acting like idiots. What kind of education do you need to believe thats why you are blessed on this earth to believe and worship your maker not to go to harvard for 4 yrs and die it makes me sick that there are non believers out there but i leave it up to God to be the judge. If you were really educated u wouldnt be even asking that question and who cares about how educated you are your nothing at all unless you believe...

Some "Scholars" and "Educated men" are blind to truth because they would rather have money and prestige. Materials that draw them away from "God" or religion.

"*Every time we look at something built by man- a house for instance, we know it had a builder, someone who assembled it. When we see something that has design-like a watch, we know it had a designer who planned it. When we see artwork-like a painting, we know there was an artist who painted. When we observe order-say 20 coke cans lined up in a row, we know there was an "orderer" who set them up that way.

"...So if everything man-made has a Creator, Designer, Artist, and orderer behind it, why would we not think that there is a Creator, Designer, Artist, and Orderer behind the universe?"

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Why do you worry so much and debate the topic so much if you don’t believe in a God. You are suspicious; you try to find all the reason’s why he doesn’t exist. Scientists believe in atoms to assist them in proving their theories. People believe in God as a source of strength, to help them through trying times and to help them become better people. Education can only advance the mind; it doesn’t supply spiritual needs unless you have no spirit.

Being educated doesn’t make you happy or sad, rich or poor, it is deeper than that, you can be poor and happy as well as rich and sad. Rich and happy, poor… That is where spirit comes in. Search yourself sometimes I know you feel something is missing, your spirit thirsts, I can feel it in your question. Neither education nor your mind can answer your question, only spirit. Here’s a hint just say to yourself Lord make me believe in you. Just for a moment believe that you believe in him like you believe your chair won’t collapse as you sit on it or your computer monitor won’t just blow up in your face as you stare at it. I am not wishing you bad it’s just an experiment.

If I'm wrong and their really is a God, then I hope he isn't so vain and petty as to be upset at people for not believing in him. It would God's own fault really for not making his existence more obvious to people like me, who are actually crazy enough to request evidence or at least sound argument before they believe something.

If there is a god he created faith for those who don't know how to live a normal life, and education for those with a normally developed brain.

The basis of faith is...well, faith. "Showing" or "Proving" himself would sort of negate that aspect. Education has absolutely nothing to do with beliefs or faith.

I'd like to know what the so called educated people have to look forward to after death if they don't believe in an afterlife :P
