Who says they can't be both? You're (apparent) limited experience with guys doesn't qualify you to make such a huge sweeping and insulting statement.

They divide into those 2 groups yes, but it is at different times in their life. At the first part of a guys life to about 25 all they want is 2 but there comes a point where they feel secure with themselves and want to have kids settle down ect and that is number 1. So yes every man is both unless you are just a straight player. There is always a bit of 2 in a man you just have to get it out of him. Good Luck!

We may not be both at the same time of our lives.
Thank God!
We also have devided you women up into3 or 4 groups.
#1 the hot available one
#2 the gf type that will do for the formative years
#3 the marriage type, baby factory, companion, you know.
#4 the barracuda, grass widow, divorcee. etc
Men can't ever seem to get to that good old #3 on the first try either. So it seems we both have to work up from the bottom, and hopefully stop at whatever Number we are comfortable with.
LOL

Men are both. They are the man for fun when they are young, and once they are married they are the man for life. But that doesnt mean when your married you cant have adventures and fun. It's small minded to think that a man can't be all of that.

I guess I got the rare one then, because my husband is both and that is why I married him I would not settle I had to have both in one man.
He is a provider who is secure in our relationship a great father to his children before me and it made me fall in love faster. And then the sex is mind blowing. And he does all the cooking.
I have not cooked in over 7 months and we do not order out so that alone made him husband material. And it's not that I don't cook or can't but he loves to cook.

well im a women, but i have a theory.
men who are the second are probably just not matured enough as the first type. likely to not want to responsible since they are at a point in their life that they dont need to be. its not that they dont have potential, they may be the first type in a couple of years they are just not at that point in their life. they are either young or they havent hit the point in which they realize they arent young.
if you need both either date the second kind and see what happens or date the first and see if they dont have their own wild side.
people arent all black and white after all, theres gray patches.

Why can't a man be both? Who a man is in the world can be entirely different from who he is in the bedroom. There's an old saying 'Lady in the living room, wh*re in the bedroom'. That same statement can apply to men, too.

I knew about the division but i can add to ur analogy and putting it this way:
1. "husband" types are males who typically have feminine features...ie the oval face, feathered hair
2. the sexy short term types are those that are brad pitt types, the square jawed often dark eyes
It was apart of a university research i believe but i cant remember where i read it
Fortunately lady, i am both.

If you met the right man he'd probably fit all of these qualities quite well, and if you loved him enough it would'nt matter anyway.
My guess is that you go out looking for the eye candy guy or the money guy. You just want your cake and eat it. Well good luck to ya babe.
Men divide women into groups too.
1, easy lay
2, shallow gold digger
3, I love myself girl
4, decent woman who loves and respects her man
Which one are you?
