for example, i wake up at 2 (day off) ill eat "breakfast" but do i still need 2000 calories a day? if i consume less than my daily goal will it be really bad for me, or take away from my muscles etc.

If you slept so long try to eat around 1600-1700. Conversely, the days you do more, eat more. Actually eating more for a couple of days a week accelerates your metabolism.

PS: basal metabolism (what you need if you don't do anything but sleeping) takes around 1400-1500 calories

I don't think you need 2000 calories. Breathing and other bodily functions use about 60-70% of all calories...... since your sleeping you wont need the extra calories since your only moving around half as much.

yes, you still need a lot of calories - body needs 1200cal day if you would be just sleeping all 24 hours.

This depends entirely on what you do physically the other half of the day.
