Vista, Microsoft's new Operating system..
The only reason i see to get vista right now is if you are a gamer, and want to play those new DX10 Games.
Other than that, it is a computer hog, Ram, and CPU utilization is horrible. It also takes a lot of video processing power if you don't have that, you are in trouble, and you can run some of the visual features in vista.
Its nice for the user interface, which is handicapped by how slow it makes your computer.

The compatibility thing is really at this point a bunch of crap spouted by people who simply are uninformed. Quite a lot of older games worked with it right out of the box, and Microsoft has issued patches that make even more games compatible with it. Has for being a resource hog, this is just a matter of common sense, don't put a brand new operating system on a 3 year old computer.
My advice would be, if you have an old computer with XP, don't bother upgrading. But if you are buying a new computer, then definately go with Vista since it is the future.

Well it has trouble grassping the concept of video games that are older than it (dosnt run them). It makes my computer run slower than my 7 year old laptop ( ram hogg). Vista is a piece of ****.
