Get a proffesional to fade it for you. Putting peroxide onto your hair could make it go orange as it will fade through all the colour levels. Ideally the peroxide will need to be mixed with bleaching powder to have the lightening effect.

If you really want to do it yourself then try it on a test strand first so you know how long to leave it.

you DO NOT use peroxide to fade hair colour! peroxide is developer which is used in conjunction with bleach and colour to help to open up the hair shaft to allow the bleach/colour to travel into the hair shaft. to fade your hair you are best either using a clarifying shampoo or doing a bleach wash which is just a ratio of 50/50 bleach and shampoo applied on wet hair for about 20 mins.

I had a dark auburn color and I had to get rid of it too. I used a mild peroxide thing Londacolor single, lightener for blond hair. I had to use it 3 times. Don't use too much at once because you damage your natural color too. What about exact quantity: it proportion 1:1 for the powder and liquid you have there and check the color after the min time given in instruction. (15 min usually), take a bit off your hair and look at the color, if not lightened enought- reapply. And I have bad but important news for you - you'll need a hair dyer of your own natural color. because it will become not what it used to be. Sorry for the bad news. But i returned to my natural blond succesfully, good luck. you have to color them to return to your natural color not very often, if you choose the color right. once in several month, not so awful.
