What would have happened if, from the beginning, no one had questioned what the given religion in power said? What would have happened if everything with which one book, one group, or one authority figure disagreed was thrown out the window?

To lead humanity to progress in this life, or to keep it hoping desperately for another life...

Quiet.Buck: I'm not even going to discuss such an immense topic with you, as:
1.) I said "seem to contradict" rather than "contradict"
2.) your justifications are absurd
and 3.) you will continue to believe what you want.

Let me leave you with this, though:

Hindsight is 20/20.

Rev. Albert Einstein: O Corruptor of Names, I have seen your posts, and you are misguided. You tend to end them with "get an education." Funny. You must be saying that all non-Christian scientists have no education. Quite intelligent of you.

Citing the names and quotes of scientists who believed in God does not prove God in any way... or aren't you educated enough to know that that is not a functional logical proof? Furthermore, just because they say their faith led them to it does not mean it actually did. I daresay it was their own works and studies. After all, how would you explain the non-Christian scientists who make discoveries?

guraqt: Let me begin with your last point. Albert Einstein's concept of God was vastly different from that of the Christian one. Now for the rest.

By no means has your post proven a thing to me. Furthermore, with the rampant free interpretations of the text, you can make anything work if you want.

And, lastly... I'll refer you to the words I used:

"seem to contradict"

I frankly don't care if the Bible supports it all. My point is that much of science has been thwarted by religious attempts to silence all dissenting thought.

Bakhan: Could it be that I and many others came to this conclusion after some studying? Hmm...

And no, as of yet, there is no evidence or logical proof of God, which is itself a term in dispute.

WE'd right back in the Dark ages, a time when ONLY the rich and powerful knew how to read and write, And among THOSE only the VERY richest actually owned books. Back then if you owned a book and could actually READ the book, you were a very powerful and wealthy person. Then, even the typical parish priest could READ Latin but never understood a single word or phrase of what he read. Back then ALL books were written and copied by hand. Often the people who actually did the copying had NO idea what the characters and words WERE that they were copying, they just put down what they saw. This is HOW mistranslations of the Bible and other books occured in those times. the copier had no idea what he was writing and if he missed a character or a word, it wasn't noticed at all because he had NO idea HOW to proofread what he had written. When REAL knowledge is in the hands ot only a tiny few, then there can possibly be NO advancement whatsoever. There can only be a backward slide to complete ignorance by the masses of people. I'd sure hate to see such a thing ever occur again on this world. That was a dark period ijn the history of Civilization in Europe that lasted for four hundred years during which enormous numbers of people were subjugated and oppressed in the name of Religion and no one knew that it shouldn't be that way because there was NO way to PROVE it. They couldn't read, and didn't have the books to provide the truth, even if they could.

Skye: "Science" means "knowledge" - by definition. In all reality ... contrary to popular belief, the genuine and true sciences, support true and genuine Holy Biblical texts. For example, Archaeologists in the Middle east, (Hebrew University) use the Bible, as one of its tools, in the various "digs" or sites. Real science and the Bible complement one another. The Holy Bible is the historical record of the human history on this earth. It is the only book, which deals solely, with the PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE. That is why it is so unique.

Even, Albert Einstein saw the magnificence of a "God" in the structure of the Universe - the smartest man- ever !!!

I wonder ...
What gave you this rouge idea that religion contradicts science. It is a pity.
What we can not, rather science can not explain about religion, does not mean it does not exist or is not there.
Everyday newer facts are revealed to man and do you think it is man who is responsible for them. No... the facts are there, have been there, only thing is we have been unable to comprehend them. Thus what ever the religion has actually said does exist, and we have exposed so little of it.
My advice to those, who think that religion and science are two different things,is it is wrong to think thus...These are only one, and the difference is in our ignorance.

One possible result would be the introduction of creationism into a science curriculum.

im with you on this one!
my husband says im not religious cos I dont believe what a book says that has been written too long ago for anyone to prove its real.
I believe in god but I have to believe in what has been scientifically proven... this makes me feel like im not quite whole or im missing a point

Great scientists like Johannes KEPLER saw God's magnificance and constantly gave praise to God Almighty for his wonderful laws built into nature. He was a creationist.

So was Isaac NEWTON.......and he wrote 1 million words about his LITERAL belief in the Scripture. He was a creationist.
" I have a fundamental belief in the Word of God....I study the Bible daily". - Isaac Newton

The electromagnetic equations of James Clerk Maxwell attest to the Magnificant mathematical inginuity of the Creator.
He was a Creationist.
Louis Pasteur...was a avid Christian and Fundamental Bible believer....

Thousands of other scientists freely admit it was their faith in God and Jesus Christ that led them to great discoveries...

Its only the ignorant who can't figure it out. Please get an education

show me a contradiction.

man thought earth was flat yet bible clearly says G_D sits on the circle of the earth, sphere was not a word then.

Noah's flood is true, sit and do the math, all animals, food, water and people can easily fit and survive for 1 yr. actually each human has 45'x45'x10' worth of space, I've done the math.

big bang.... that is a motion from center, outward. hmm, bible... and G_D spread out his hands to make the universe. same exact action, center outward.

so please, show me the contradiction that isn't rooted in 3rd grade English lessons.
