Once Muslims quote something from the past, besides quoting from Holly Quran, other Scriptures are also given a reference to, while Christians do not follow such a trend?

PS.
This question I have asked in good faith.
I mean no harm or ill to any one.

I mean that Holly Quran is never used as a reference. It is a complete Scripture from God and gives extensive details of many things, reffered to in passing in the other Scriptures.

I don't know how noble this answer is, but ...

The reason is that Muslims are right in understanding that there is truth in Christianity, while fundamentalists are still too weak in their faith to acknowledge that there is truth in Islam.

Notice I said "fundamentlists," not "Christians." The real Christians I know have no problem recognizing God's truth in other doctrines.

Its hard to follow in a Christian or Muslim walk when you live in a world that has changed so much since the beginning of time. In the past if a sin committed the person was involved was stoned to death now they, well its go to jail sometimes and then sometimes not. Murder someone and go to jail for a 5 to 25 year and get out free or have counseling for a little while and you are fine. I think that morals in the world are over looked and its what best suits your needs and not the best solution sometimes. I say this in kindness and not to be misunderstood or hurt anyone. But this world is getting worst everyday , but one day we won't have to worry .

I'd be happy to use to Qu'ran to share my faith with Muslims. For instance, let's say I was trying to explain the Blessed Trinity. The Qur'an states in Sura 2:87 and 5:110 that Jesus was strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Thus the Qur'an teaches that there is an entity that is not Jesus called the "Holy Spirit".

Mohammed also calls Jesus al-Masih. Al-Masih is an intensive form which means both Anointed One (THE Anointed One, the sine qua non of anointed ones) and one who, by virtue of this quality, has the right to anoint others (see Memsuah Mansour, "The Meaning of al-Masih").

And Sura 4:171 identifies Jesus as the Word of Allah. Muslims believe, as do Christians, that Allah is perfectly simple. Therefore His intellect and His essence are one and the same thing. Therefore His mental Word cannot be something extrinsic and accidental to Himself, like our mental words, but must be intrinsic and substantial. Furthermore, since Allah knows Himself intimately and exhaustively, His mental Word cannot merely express a portion of His perfections, but must in turn express His perfections exhaustively. Therefore, Allah's mental Word can be nothing less than the perfect mirror image of Himself, a substantial Person Who expresses, and therefore contains, the whole essence and perfections of the Deity. That is to say, Allah's Word can be nothing other than a co-equal Son.

Not that Muhammad would agree with this, but I do wish he was still alive, so I could sit down and have a chat...

The Quran is the last Holy book as our prophet is the last prophet.Thereby it not only quotes but gives instances from the earlier books like the Bible and the Torah, hence the quotations .The earlier books do not mention the Quran because they were much earlier than it though if you check out with any priest who has studied the original version of the Bible there is a reference to the arrival of the last prophet in it.

The Quran, the last revealed word of God, is the primary source of every Muslim’s faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, transactions, law, etc., but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures. At the same time, it provides guidelines and detailed teachings for a just society, proper human conduct, and an equitable economic system.

ps i've left u a cooment in the Question iof urs , about the original sin.

wish i've made myself clear , thnx

Are you asking why more scripture references are not used. This is possible, I try to if possible, many times a question is so long and complicated it takes a while to answer, if you wait too long you end up on page 2 and noone considers your answer, sometimes, I will answer without references and go get them and add them.

This is a Book revealed unto thee - so let there be no straightness in thy bosom concerning it - that thou mayest warn thereby and that it be an exhortation to the believers.

There is not an animal that crawls in the earth, nor a bird that flies on its two wings, but they are communities like you. We have left out nothing in the Book. Then to their Lord shall they all be gathered together.

These are the verses of the perfect Book. That which has been revealed to thee from thy Lord is the truth, but most men believe not.

Holy Quran

Edit:

And they say, 'God has taken to Himself a son.' Holy is He! Nay, everything in the Heavens and the earth belongs to Him. To Him are all obedient.

Holy Quran

112:4] 'He begets not, nor, is He begotten,
[112:5] And there is none like unto Him.

Christanity and Islam are two different religions therefore they do things differently...although they have their similarities at the end of teh day they approach things differently. Islam links to the past and the people from the past...however both religions approve of the existence of God and taht's all that matters in my opinion.

Because Islam is not new religion.
No one founded Islam ( some people think wrongfully that Prophet Muhammad founded Islam, it is wrong).
Religion is only one from Creator of universes God Almighty.
Since first human being Prophet Adam there is only one religion. That is worship one True God, without sharing, and obey His Commands.
Have faith on His Angels,
Having faith on His scriptures and teachings , revealed on different Messengers and Prophets, including, Zaboor Taurah, Injeel, and last and final scripture, Quran, revealed on Prophet David, Moses, Jesus, and Last and Final messenger and Prophet Muhammad.

Futher Quran and Prophet Muhammad and Muslims are refered in Previouse Scriptures,

Book of Deuteronomy of the Old Testament of the Bible: ‘I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words into his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.’
Prophet Muhammad and Quran refered in this verse of Old Testament.

The process revealing Religion starts from Prophet Adam, and passing thorough Prophet Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and completed with Last and Final Messenger and Prophet Muhammad ( Peace and blessings of God on all of them).

That is why we can find references and quotations of previous Prophets and their teaching, because Islam is a complete and final way of life for human being and Jins as well. Absolutely no controversy but a continuous progression and evolution of process, from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammad..

I believe that Christains are "smarter than that", meaning that the scriptures are all about the "meaning", and about the morals imposed, Not so much into exact dates, facts and details. To take any book (or writing) literally is insane.
