Okay, try this 'recipe' ... 'soak' some beans for 1/2 hour in 'touchable hot' water, then rinse them thoroughly in cold water and 'soak' them again and rinse again. Put the 'twice soaked beans (whatever kind you want to use ... this is a very 'general recipe' for BEAN SOUP) in the bottom of your crockpot, to about 1/4 of the depth of the crock pot. FILL IT WITH WATER to the 2/3 level and turn it on 'high' and put the cover on. Let it 'cook' for at least three hours, then pour the beans into a 'colander' and rinse them with cold water and put them back into the crock pot. Add ANY of the following things ... meat (I use bacon, ham, ham-hocks, old roast beef, chicken, and even things like pepperoni and salami), 2 cups of 'diced fresh tomato, 2 cups of 'shredded carrots', 1 cup of diced celery, leftover cooked pasta, and cover with water and let cook for another hour or two. At the 'very end' you MUST add 1 'packed cup' of DARK brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of 'mustard' (liquid added, not 'dry') ... then put the cover on and go away for another two hours. When you take that lid off and 'inhale' you will be 'blown away' by the wonderful AROMA ... and your 'bean soup' will become known by those who eat it as 'the best' even though if you 'vary' the ingredients, it will be 'a bit different' every time.

Make chili, all you need is 1 can each of canned black, pinto, and kidney beans, chili spices, a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes, a little tomato paste to cook with some onion and green pepper, and some garlic. Chop up the onion and green pepper, cook it in a little oil and add the tomato paste, then dump that and the rest of the ingredients, along with some water, into the crockpot-yum!

Place in crock pot 1/2 to 1 pound steak (not an expensive cut as slow cooking will make it tender)2 medium cans black beans and 2 medium cans kidney beans,2/3 cup finely chopped onion. 1/3 cup chopped celery-1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Add water for desired thickness. !/3 cup small carrots if desired. Turn on crockpot on high for 30 minutes in the morning-then turn to low-put vegatables in last 2 hours if you dont like them soft.

Here is an extremely simple yet wholesome meal...
Put 1/2 cup of water in the bottom of your slowcooker.
Add a pork roast.
Put 5-9 peeled whole potatoes over that and a small bag of baby carrots over the potatoes.
Turn on the slowcooker at 8 a.m. on low heat and your supper is finished for you at 5p.m.
You can also add extras that you might like such as onions, or peppers.

This is my mother-in-laws Goulash which I never cared much for but my family always loved it. And it is easy to make.
1 Box of Macaroni and Cheese
one pound of hamburger meat.
1/2 cup chopped onion or more to your taste.
Can of tomato sauce.
1 can mushrooms
Pitted olives (optional)
Ketchup
Cook Macaroni according to instructions. Reserve the package of cheese mix....
Brown hamburger with the Onions.
Drain the hamburger, you might want to rinse with hot water.Return to skillet. Add the tomato sauce, mushrooms, Add 1/4 cup of ketchup. I sometimes add a bit of sugar to sweeten it up some more. Stir in the powdered cheese paket. Reheat and enjoy.

Take some onions, celery, carrots, and 1-3 types of beans you like (red, black, lentils, white, etc...) add canned stewed tomato, garlic, salt, pepper, chicken stock
put in the crock pot. Voila! If you want towards the end add some small pasta like ditalini. Just like Pasta e Fagioli.
