My friend just gave me a pur-bread mini doberman, its 4 yearsold and seems to be healthy but is a little on the heavy side. How could I help it lose weight? Anything will help! Thanks!

go to a better pet store to get weight control food. only feed him the recommended amount. go light on the snacks. try not to give him table food.
exercise him by playing with him in the yard or by walking him.
also ask your vet what his ideal weight should be at his age and they can guide you on how many lbs he needs to loose.

There is no such thing as a Mini-Doberman. I'm assuming you are referring to a Min-Pin -- which has NO Doberman Pinscher in it's bloodline.

There are several good "diet" dog foods out there. However, I'd recommend simply cutting back portions and eliminating between meal snacks. Plus add regular, daily walks into the regime, and I bet you'll see your pup lose weight fast.
