OK when i got my puppy she was 5 weeks old to train her i gave her a regular routine each day when i got home i would let her out for ten minutes to do her business then bring her back inside so she would understand that each day she had one chance of going to the restroom but if she was inside and really needed to go she would stand by the door or scratch it because she knows that the door is what opens to the outside

Assuming your dog just arrived at your home to live, I would put it on a leash and take it outside (even in a fenced yard) and show it where you want it to go. Say "go potty,~name~" and repeat. If you don't get a response, walk around a little then back to the same place and say it again. Once the dog has "pottied" praise, praise, praise. Take it back in the house. A little while later repeat the process. Within a few days--allowing mistakes--you dog should go to the door to be let out. You are basically training yourself to remember. Don't let up until the dog can hold it all night, or while you are at work. Patience is the key. Don't scold, just offer a better place to go than in the house.

You start with never ever rubbing your puppies nose in his accident. It' s up to you to teach him the manners of the house.
It will take some work but it will work!
Take your pup out whenever he/she wakes up from a nap, and after each meal. Also after each session of hard playing they need to go potty. So just take him outside and praise him or her like mad when they did the right thing, and if they still should have a accident because YOU did not pay close enough attention, interrupt them as soon as possible by scooping them up and taking him outside - and then praise again for a job well done. Clean the mess in the house up with out scolding your pup- it's not his fault that you did not read his body language right. Also if your pup starts to search around all in a sudden it's high time to get outside- he is looking for a place.
Hope this helps.
I'm mom to 3 pups- one St. Bernard mix, and two Kangal Dogs one of them is 3 1/2 months old and very much house trained- because WE are vigilant.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMTyr
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

You must walk the dog quite often until he gets the idea that he only goes outside. Have you tried crate training? The crate will serve as a safe haven for your dog, and will serve as a place where he/she will not go to the bathroom, put the dog in the crate, but you must take the dog out quite often until he gets the message of going outside. it takes patience, keep trying!

Same as you would an 8 week old pup. Crate train, take him outside all the time, praise when he goes pee and poop... Tell him NO when he starts to have an accident in the house, watch him all the time and stay on top of it.

keep your dog outside a lot. WATCH IT THOUGH REMEMBER IT CAN CHEW THROUGH STUFF! and if it goes inside the house then just slap it on the nose, not to hard, and say NO, bad dog. and put him/her outside.
oh and Jess that's way to long People won't want to read it.
