Definitely take some courses and get books about it first. You might want to take some general business classes, too, to learn how to run a business.

Having said that, I personally would never start a business that required me to deal with brides on a daily basis. I just got married, and while I think I was a fairly reasonable bride, every bride has at least one "Bridezilla" moment. Do you really want to deal with that? Brides in general are a fairly irrational group of people.

First I would suggest taking some online courses or courses at your local community college on event planning. Clients do not take you seriously unless you have a certificate in wedding planning, wedding coordinating or bridal consulting.

There are a lot of online resources that can help, but it is not an easy business to get into. There are a lot of start up costs and marketing costs. You really have to do a lot of work to get clients.

I would suggest doing more research before you decide.
Good luck!
