Well, if they signed over the pink slip, and gave you a bill of sale, that legally makes the car yours. I don't know which state you are in, but when you sign the pink slip, the car is legally someone elses. The only issue is why didn't you fix the 700 error? You signed the bill of sale with the error? Anyways, it is his word against yours. Unless he has paperwork which states you in the wrong, you should be fine.

OK you will be in and out of court in no time. the judge is going to be very upset with the other party for wasting their time. bill of sell is a done deal. possession is 9/10 of the law meaning the title that was signed is in your possession. not unless you did not pay them. but they will have to prove that. your receipt is the signed title. good luck

First, this sounds like a deal between both of you to avoid sales tax. Are you saying you have owned the car for a few years and, just now, they are wanting more money? Something is very fishy. I don't think we are getting all the facts.

I hope you have proof u paid $2000 to your friend first off. Second, I don't think you have anything to worry about since the bill of sale is $700...it's a done deal.

What a waste of time -- he can sell you a car for a dollar if he wants to. The amount has NOTHING to do with this. It's all a smokescreen so tell that bozo you will be GLAD to see him in court.
