Just wondering because i am thinking about purchasing Microsoft Vista for my laptop:) thanks

Not sure why there were so many thumbs downs, the first several people were right. Word does not come as a part of any Vista operating system, nor did it come as part of any XP operating system. Now that doesn't mean that this new laptop won't have Word on it, you should check, it just means that Word is not a part of Vista and you will not automatically get it just because you have Vista.

Mine came with it but it was included as part of the package when I bought my laptop. Microsoft works 2007. I guess it really depends on where and who you buy your computer from. If you are only buying the program Windows Vista then no because it is all separate programming.

no, windows vista is an operating system while microsoft word is a word processing program that can be bought by itself or as a bundled package in microsoft office suite

It is your computer that may have come with the program, as they often come with a "bundle" of programs already installed. These are usually trial versions however, so be sure to check if they are advertising pre-installed programs. You wouldn't want to figure the full price into your savings if you are only getting a 30 day trial. Most computers come with a pre-loaded word processing program, use your search feature and look for "word" or "office" and see what you have.

Vista is usally accompanied by Office 2007.
(which includes word, excel, powrpnt, etc)
please be advised that the software in Office 2007 has a completly different look and feel....the commands and the way the were executed in xp or others are basically the same--but you gotta find em now...they are in different places on the menu.
