Actually, Christians honor Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.
And, it is also rare to see a Muslim honor Jesus; although they claim to.
Honor is earned.
You are right that the L-rd honored both parties with covenants. After all, they are siblings.

So Islam has a wider capacity to love..why? Show me a passage in the Qur'an that is equivalent to 'love thy enemy'. The Qur'an exhorts Muslims to love other Muslims but clearly teaches that Muslims are under no obligation to treat unbelievers with the same respect as fellow Muslims.
"We don’t make a distinction between civilians and non-civilians, innocents and non-innocents. Only between Muslims and unbelievers. And the life of an unbeliever has no value. It has no sanctity.”
Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad in an interview with Lisbon’s Publica magazine.
Qur'an quotes:
“Soon shall we cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with God, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be the Fire: And evil is the home of the wrong-doers!” Qur'an 3:151 also 8:59-60 and 59:13.
“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.” Qur'an 8:12.
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” Qur'an 9:29.
“O Prophet! Strive hard against the unbeliever and the hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell - an evil refuge indeed.” Qur'an 9:73.
And so on, and so on....

Abraham was a man of faith. It was by faith that he was accepted, and by faith that God intended to bless him.
When God promised him a son he grew impatient, after years not seeing it, so he tried to it in human ways. He lay with his wife's servant girl Hagar, and Ishmael was born. Later God makes it clear in Genesis that God was intending to provide the son thriough whom salvation would flow through faith. Abraham believed in the end, even though he and Sarah seemed way too old, she seemed infertile. So Isaac came, truly "the son of promise".
The upshot is that when Ishmael was removed from the family - quite possibly his mum was goading him to kill the young Isaac, he went off with a grudge. Its not surprising that in his desires he wanted to be the notably son. Perhaps not surprisingly that that rebel attititude should provide an opening for Satan. So a man coming from Ishmael's stock literally or in myth could be fooled by a fallen angel into having a 'new revelation' from God.
So Ishmael is certainly a son of Abraham, and head of a large race (perhaps; but this may be in part myth). But God's salvation is through the way of faith, through the son of promise, Isaac, and through the ultimate seed of this line - the Messiah.
So spiritual salvation can come through a son of Ishmael if he believes in Jesus, and God can thus use him. Spiritual deception can come if he teaches a man-generated scheme of salvation.

You've missed an important point. Christians don't honor or dishonor Isaac or Ishmael. However, God did chose to give us a savior, and He could ONLY come from one line or the other. God had promised Abraham and Sarah a child. He hadn't promised one to Abraham and Hagar.
Islam calls both Jesus and Mohamed "prophets", but deny the deity of Jesus. (even though this "prophet" claimed to be God).
Isaac was born to Abraham AND HIS BARREN WIFE SARAH. That's a miracle child. Abraham could have had sex with any of the servants and made a child - no miracle there.
Recognizing who the promised child was is not a matter of my preference or who I chose to honor. It's who God gave to Abraham and Sarah.

If Christians read the Bible, they understand that Ishmael was born after the flesh, and Isaac was born by promise. The covenant with Isaac is everlasting.
In Genesis 17:18-22, it says: "And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee; Behold I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham."
In Genesis 21: 9-13, it also states: "And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
In Galatians 4:22-31 scripture states: " For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise, Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answererth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her chldren. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not, break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. "
Ismael is respected as a son of Abraham. Christians, I would say, have more respect for Isaac because God established an everlasting covenant with Isaac. True Christians are counted as his heirs, thus recipients of the promise.

Are you purposely forgetting that Christianity is based on Jesus and that Jesus was a "JEW", and Jews are descendants of Isaac????
Maybe you forgot it, but we haven't.

Yes you are absolutely right my friend.
Islam is dynamic and covers all aspects of life and teaches love and respect with positive faith on all prophets of God Almighty.
Muslim is not Muslim unless he or she do not recognize all Prophets of God as true Prophets of God Almighty with respect.
Islam is the only Religion who recognize and respect Prophet Jesus(pbuh), while others just acting as Hippocrates not saying in front of others but in fact treat Him as .......
But Islam teaches its followers to give full respect and also His Mother as most elevated and respected woman of History of mankind.
