As a bartender I can absolutely feel your pain. After a couple of years not worrying about the show problem I started having a great deal of pain some nights that lasted days. Here's the solution that worked for me:
1. First get a pair of slip resistant shoes. If you slip and fall your feet problems could be the last thing on your mind.
2. Make sure you can remove the insoles and get a nice pair of comfortable insoles that fit your needs best. (Personally, I'm gellin' like a felon.)
Since doing that I've had a significant decrease in foot pain.

High Quality Running Shoes, or you can check you the Shoes 4 Crews website. They make shoes for working people, and most are non-slip.
If you buy cheap shoes the padding will crush after a couple of hours leaving no support, and over time the shoes will not bounce back.
Don't be cheap, your feet are you money makers. Treat them well because if you can't stand, you can't make money as a bartender.

There is one big problem with comfortable shoes. They don't look pretty and as a female bartender you want to look your best. It help with the tips. So your best bet is to get an insert or arch support. You can get cheap ones at Walmart or your grocery store. You can also spend the money and get then custom made for you.

I did a lot of walking as a delivery man. Although I only worked 10-11 hours a day. A good running shoe helps--go more by comfort of fit rather than brand name. I also put a heel cushion inside--these can be found at Walmart, Kmart,Target, any dept store. The less expensive ones seem to work as good as the more expensive ones--I tried a lot of them.

Go to a medical supply store, and ask to see nurses shoes. I know a beautician who swears by them. She's on her feet for 10 to 11 hours a day, and she said when she wore tennis shoes, her feet killed her.
Nurses shoes are expensive, but isn't it worth it?

There are special shoes for this, which support your natural foot position.
Normally, trainers give the most support: a good pair of trainers breathe, form to your feet, and support the ball of your footsole (the part that is higher and between heel and toes)
