Can I set the record straight?

Question

I am not a Christian, why is it everytime I don't agree with every single last Atheists view I get called a Christian?
Or a dumb Christian?

Because individuals do well to really know their own religion.

As a Christian, I have never studied what Wiccans do or beleive, I know what an atheist is but what they beleive or how they view world? - I haven't a clue( already see the comebacks on that one) I know perhaps the most about the Jewish faith, and not much about Hindus or Buddhists.

Perhaps if you are debating an atheist or anyone else, you could start your post with, As an.............., I think...................

So to answer your question:

a) you could be giving Christian based answers regardless of what you think you are or aren't........

b)they don't have any clue about Christians and therefore assume you are one.

(I can't resist ): Better to be a dumb Christian, than a -------------- (truly kidding, it is probably the WORST thing anyone can be ......)

I guess that's the 'atheists' way of calling you something they feel is derogatory. I don't know many Christians who agree with each other on every single point in their faith. I suspect that's also true among atheists. I am a Christian, but I don't expect every other Christian to adopt or agree with everything I believe in my faith. If you consider yourself an athiest, I think you have the right to believe what you want, even if it doesn't agree point-for-point with everything every other athiest believes. But just like the atheists you speak of, there are Christians who will mock or shun other Christians who don't follow what they perceive to be the one true way to believe. Ignore them; believe what you come to believe is truth. Let it take you where it will...

There are those that hold the belief that if you are not with them you are against them and hence an enemy. Well in America the largest enemy that atheists typically percieve are the Christians. For those that call you dumb it's because they hold the base idea that if you are not with us you must be stupid, it makes honest discussion difficult.

Because many (but not all) Atheists share one thing in common with many (but not all) Christians.

Refusal to accept that others have their own beliefs, and a right to share their beliefs.

This is something that I'd like to bring an end to. Bridges allow communication as long as they are there. But a rift will not. Your voice will run out long before a rift closes itself.

Please find it within yourself to forgive those who misunderstand you, as their ignorance is not their own fault. Maybe you could help them to overcome it, so they can be more open-minded. Ultimately, everybody will benefit from a newly-opened mind.

Most Atheist's who say things like that aren't atheist's they are Christians who are angry with there god and in denial. A true atheist doesn't care if others agree or not. So believe what you want it's your rite to , screw them !!!!

Ignorant people come in all shapes, sizes, colours and religions. You have a right to disagree. I have never found any of your answers or questions offencive but then I am not an atheist. I find your questions question both believing and not believing. Don't let them get you down. Plus, they're just jealous cause your the cutest kitty around!

No you cannot. The record was born that way, and no amount of therapy, prayer or hostility will set it strait. You just have to accept the record for what it is. Love will set you free.
