just installed new sony explod in the front of my '02 jeep grand cherokee. any reason why they are so much quieter than the rear stock speakers? ive got my fade and all that set so all 4 should be equal.

It's not unusual for after-market speakers to be less sensitive than stock speakers, but I'm guessing that's not really your problem. I think your Grand Cherokee probably has a factory amplifier. Normally that's not an issue, but in a GC the amp has a crossover for the front speakers. The door speakers play only midrange and bass tones, and the treble is sent to the dash speakers. Listen closely; are the new door speakers playing any high frequencies? If not, you're going to have to bypass the factory amp if you want full-range sound from the doors. However, that's not recommended if you still have the factory radio.
