You can get a warm, wet washcloth and hold it over the dogs eyes. It will moisten the crusties and then you can wipe them off. Chihuahuas are delicate little critters! He may have conjunctivitis or allergies. Be sure to tell the owners to get him to the vet to see what the problem is.

you need to take him to their vet. an eye infection can get very serious quickly and can be quite painful. you can place a rag with warm water on it and pick the crusties off to help keep the dog more comfortable while you drive to the vet. good luck.

You can very gently clean it with a clean cloth and warm water. But you need to let this dog's owners know. It might be something that happens with this dog and they're aware of it, but it's possible he has an eye infection, in which case they need to take him to the vet without delay.

Maybe try a q-tip with warm water on it to loosen up the crusty parts, then gently wipe it away.

Just don't use too hot of water.

I think this is normal if you don't clean around their eyes regularly. Put a warm washcloth on it to soften it up then gently wipe it. You should say something to the owners about it just in case it is an infection.
