I am wanting to get a tattoo across each of my wrists and I am just wondering if this is safe or not? It concerns me a little with the veins being directly under my wrist and near the surface and the possibility (I don't if it could happen or not) of ink getting into my bloodstream. Does anyone have an answer or experience with wrist tattoos? Thank you.

I have one that goes all around my wrist, from the base of my hand, about 5 inches up my arm. And let me tell you the wrist is a strange area for sensations, some places did not hurt at all, other places like on the pinky side by my hand hurt more than child birth. But, as I remember it the inner wrist didn't really hurt, it just felt weird putting all that pressure on my tendons & veins. Also one thing to keep in mind... every job I have had for the past 16 years i've been limited to wearing long sleaves to cover it up (boo on corperate america)

My opinion, unless you love long sleeves, or you are going into a proffession that does not deal with the public, or they just don't care...get itsomewhere that will be eaiser to cover up.

I have a tattoo on each of my inner wrists, I didnt bleed much at all. It does hurt much worse, at least in my opinion, than the other tats I got, but I would do it all over again. The pain was tolerable for me. If its important to you, and you like the idea of putting it on your wrist just do it!

It is perfectly safe. I have a wrist tattoo and have never had problems. The needle does not go in deep enough to enter any vein..the ink either.

Many people have wrist tattoos. It's totally safe. Just make sure you get it done at a decent place.
Hope it comes out as you want it!

I have both wrists tattooed. I'm not dead. You'll be fine, assuming you don't let the world's biggest idiot tattoo you... Veins are way below the level of the skin that is tattooed.

Maybe I'm just a wimp. xD
JUST make sure you get a professional to do it, and everything will go fine. ;)

Well, I have one on each of my inner wrists and didnt cause me a single problem. If you want one there, go for it. It hurts a little more than other places on your body but only because your wrists contain alot of nerve endings.

There is always some kind of risk when you get a tat. I can tell you this much it will probably hurt a little bit more on the wrists.

It's safe. The ink will not be deep enough to go into your veins or into your blood steam.
